Strengthen and restore teeth after root canal treatment at PRALASH Dermystique & Dentique, HRBR Layout. Expert post & core build-up for long-lasting crown support.
After root canal treatment (RCT), a tooth is often significantly weakened — much of its natural structure may have been removed to access and clean the canals. A Post & Core is an internal support system that reinforces the remaining tooth structure and provides a stable foundation for a dental crown.
A post is inserted into the root canal space to anchor the restoration. A core build-up of composite or other material then replaces the missing tooth structure above it. Together, they create a sturdy base that allows a crown to be fitted securely — restoring full function and protecting the tooth for many years.
We evaluate how much tooth structure remains after root canal treatment and determine the best post type and core material for your case.
A portion of the root canal filling is removed and the post (fiber or metal) is cemented into the prepared root canal space for anchorage.
Composite resin or other core material is built up around the post to recreate the coronal tooth structure needed to support a crown.
The core is shaped and the tooth is prepared to receive a dental crown. An impression or digital scan is taken and sent to the lab.
The custom-made crown is cemented over the post-and-core unit, fully restoring the tooth's shape, strength and function.
Made of glass-fiber reinforced resin — flexible, tooth-coloured and bonds well to tooth structure. The preferred modern choice for most cases.
Cast or pre-formed metal posts offer high strength. Suitable for heavily damaged teeth where maximum rigidity is required.
Custom-fabricated in a lab from an impression of the root canal. Provides an exceptionally precise fit for complex or wide canal spaces.
An older technique where the post and crown are combined as one unit — used in specific cases with very little remaining tooth structure.
Provides internal reinforcement for a tooth that would otherwise be at high risk of fracture after RCT.
Distributes biting forces along the root, dramatically reducing the risk of root fracture under chewing loads.
Creates a stable foundation so the crown fits precisely and stays secure for many years.
A post-and-core-supported crown can last 10–15+ years with good oral hygiene.
You can eat normally again without fear of breaking the treated tooth.
